Breeding horses for any discipline is a long, long journey into the unknown, fraught with traumas, heartache and disappointment all the way. But the satisfaction of achieving your goal outweighs everything else – you have got there, on your own!

There are essential ingredients nevertheless; a lot of luck, a good eye, instinct, experience and a respect and understanding for the horse itself as it lives in its own environment, within the rules of the herd.

We hope you will enjoy reading about how we started breeding event horses in the UK, our philosophies on breeding (lots of opportunity for argument there!) and following the progress of the second generation, all full brothers and sisters, as they climb the competition ladder here in France in the very experienced hands of French international rider, Maxime Mercier.
